ARSL was proudly represented at the ALA 2024 conference in various ways. One notable representation was by ARSL Advocacy Committee members Amy Stone and Drew Wichterman. They presented a poster session on “Embedded Librarianship: Community Outreach Mindset for Small/Rural Libraries.” During their session, they engaged with attendees from across the country and around the world.

Some of the insightful responses they received included:

  • Making time for leadership roles in the community
  • Offering ESL programs for immigrant and migrant populations
  • Ensuring stability and reliability in staffing these efforts
